Our School Council
The Hatfield Heath School council is a group of elected pupils who represent their classmates in the improvement and development of the school. It gives our pupils a way to share their views on the school with senior leaders and help to make positive changes.
It also helps our pupils develop confidence, communication, and negotiation skills, learn about democracy, citizenship, and accountability and provides opportunities for students to take on leadership roles.
Some of the things a school council might do include:
· Meeting regularly to discuss ideas and events
· Working with the PFA to organise events
· Taking assemblies about key topics
· Holding class meetings (alongside their class teacher) to discuss council matters.
· Organising competitions to raise money
· Writing minutes of meetings
· Recording achievements in the school newsletter
